The reviews are in, and the Las Vegas based film ‘Frank & Lola’ is a hit at the Sundance Film Festival. As you recall from my prior post the film, by writer/director Matthew Ross, features a star studded cast that includes Michael Shannon, Imogen Poots, Michael Nyqvist, Justin Long, Emmanuelle Devos, and Rosanna Arquette.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the “moody psychological drama” is “well-structured” and “deserves a release from an enterprising distributor”. Of particular interest to those of us in Las Vegas is the comment that “Ross and cinematographer Eric Koretz bring considerable flair to their depiction of both Vegas and Paris”.

The folks over at Indiewire described ‘Frank & Lola’ as having a “bewitching and intensely intoxicating quality”. More hometown props were rolled in when they note the film is “set in the lonely and superficial milieu of Las Vegas — perhaps the perfect setting to foster emotional insecurity”.

I’m glad to hear that the initial reviews for ‘Frank & Lola’ are positive and I hope it can pick up distribution so that our downtown finds a home on the big screen in other towns in the country.
