A big congratulations to Las Vegas’ own Jesse Pino, who was recently voted “Best Singer-Songwriter” by Desert Companion magazine in their annual “Best of the City” poll.

I couldn’t agree with this designation more, and I wish Jesse all of the best success for the future. I first heard Jesse’s music this past summer when I was covering the 2015 Las Vegas Film Festival and I was immediately impressed. He had recently released an EP entitled “The Burn” which you can find here and was playing a set at The Griffin on the second night of the festival along with his band The Clever Clouds.

As with many of the other acts at the Film Festival, I listened to Jesse’s music online before his show and enjoyed it very much. My personal favorite is his track “Idiot” which you can listen to here  and which also appears on “The Burn” EP.

I was even more impressed with Jesse as an artist after catching him play a blistering set at The Griffin on Fremont Street during the Film Festival. Jesse is a multi-talented songwriter whose songs sound equally impressive played on an acoustic guitar or with a full electric band, punk-rock style.  I have previously described him as an “amazing songwriter”, an appellation that I don’t throw around lightly. I urge my readers to give his songs a listen and find out for themselves what both I and the readers of Desert Companion already know-that Jesse is one of the best on a short list of singer-songwriters that are helping to put the Las Vegas music scene on the map (a list that, in my opinion, also includes great local singer-songwriters Michael Louis Austin and Joshua Greenway.) So congratulations again Jesse and we look forward to your next album!
